How we work

Salesforce is built for organizations whose sales, service or partner processes are genuinely complex enough to justify a platform with this much configurability. Our salesforce development services cover Apex development for business logic, Lightning Web Components for custom interfaces, and Flow Builder for process automation that doesn't require code.

We also spend real time on the integration layer, connecting Salesforce to ERP, marketing and support systems through REST and Bulk APIs, or MuleSoft where an organization already standardizes on it for enterprise integration. Experience Cloud comes up often for organizations building partner or customer-facing portals on top of their existing Salesforce data.

A recurring part of this work is helping clients decide what to customize and what to leave as Salesforce's standard configuration. Every custom trigger, validation rule and Apex class adds to an org's long-term maintenance burden and moves it closer to the platform's governor limits, and we would rather flag that trade-off during scoping than after an org becomes difficult to change safely.

Fit

When Salesforce is the right choice, and when it is not

Good fit

  • Your sales or service process is complex enough, multiple pipelines, approval chains, territory management, that a general-purpose CRM's standard configuration doesn't fit without real customization anyway.
  • You need deep integration across multiple clouds, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, rather than a single, simpler CRM workflow.
  • You have or plan to have dedicated Salesforce administration capacity, since the platform's configurability assumes ongoing ownership.
  • You need to expose CRM data to partners or customers through a branded portal, which Experience Cloud is purpose-built for.

Consider something else

  • A mid-market company with a straightforward sales pipeline and no dedicated Salesforce administrator often finds HubSpot delivers what it needs with far less configuration and ongoing cost.
  • Heavy custom Apex logic run in bulk operations can hit governor limits, CPU time, SOQL query counts and heap size, forcing workarounds like asynchronous processing that add real engineering complexity.
  • Organizations without capacity to manage release process, sandboxes and technical debt across a growing org tend to accumulate configuration that becomes risky to change.
  • A business whose core need is operational, inventory, manufacturing, accounting, alongside CRM is often better served by an ERP-centric platform like Odoo than by extending Salesforce into that territory.

What we build

What we build with Salesforce

  • Apex development

Custom business logic in triggers, batch jobs and scheduled classes, written with attention to bulkification and governor limits so the code holds up under real data volume, not just test records.

  • Lightning Web Components

Custom user interfaces built on Salesforce's modern component framework, used when standard page layouts and Flow-driven screens can't express what a process actually needs.

  • Flow Builder automation

Declarative automation for approvals, record updates and notifications, preferred over Apex wherever it can express the same logic without custom code to maintain.

  • Experience Cloud portals

Branded, permission-scoped portals for partners or customers to view and interact with Salesforce data without full internal user licenses.

  • Integration

REST and Bulk API integrations with ERP, marketing automation and support systems, plus MuleSoft implementations for organizations standardizing on it for enterprise-wide integration.

  • Managed package evaluation

Assessing AppExchange packages against custom build, since a well-supported managed package is often less long-term maintenance than an equivalent custom Apex solution.

Salesforce Customization Limits and Governor Limits

Salesforce enforces governor limits, caps on CPU time, SOQL queries per transaction, heap size and more, to keep one customer's code from degrading performance for everyone on its multi-tenant infrastructure. These limits are rarely a problem for simple customizations, but heavy custom logic triggered across bulk data operations, a mass import or a large batch update, can hit them and force a rewrite using asynchronous processing patterns.

We design Apex with bulkification in mind from the start, testing against realistic data volumes rather than the small record sets that pass in a sandbox but fail once a client's production data hits the same code path. Where logic can be expressed declaratively through Flow instead of Apex, we generally prefer that, since it reduces both the governor limit exposure and the long-term maintenance surface.

HubSpot Versus Salesforce for Mid-Market Sales Teams

The honest comparison for a mid-market company comes down to process complexity versus administrative overhead. Salesforce's depth pays off when a sales process genuinely needs multiple pipelines, complex approval chains, or tight integration across sales, service and partner functions. That depth comes with configuration and governance work that assumes a dedicated administrator, or at least significant ongoing attention.

HubSpot's CRM covers a more standard sales process with less setup and a gentler learning curve, at the cost of hitting a customization ceiling sooner if the business's needs grow more complex. We recommend Salesforce for organizations that have already outgrown a simpler CRM's structure, and HubSpot for those whose process fits well within its more opinionated model.

  • Salesforce: deeper customization, higher administrative overhead
  • HubSpot: faster setup, lower ceiling for complex processes
  • The right choice follows process complexity, not company size alone

FAQ

Salesforce FAQs

How do we know if our sales process is complex enough to justify Salesforce over a simpler CRM?

If your process involves multiple pipelines, territory-based routing, multi-stage approval chains, or integration across sales, service and partner functions, Salesforce's configurability usually earns its cost. If your process is a single pipeline with standard stages and a small sales team, a simpler CRM like HubSpot often covers the same ground with far less setup and ongoing administration.

What are Salesforce governor limits, and how do they affect custom development?

Governor limits are caps Salesforce enforces per transaction, on CPU time, database queries and other resources, to protect performance across its shared infrastructure. Custom Apex code that isn't written to handle bulk operations correctly can hit these limits when it runs against a large batch of records, which is why we test custom logic against realistic data volumes rather than small sandbox datasets.

Should we build a custom Apex solution or use an AppExchange managed package?

We evaluate this case by case. A well-maintained managed package from a reputable vendor often costs less over time than custom Apex, since the vendor handles updates and compatibility with new Salesforce releases. Custom Apex makes more sense when the requirement is specific enough that no package fits it well, or when long-term control over the logic matters more than vendor convenience.

How does Salesforce Experience Cloud differ from giving partners direct Salesforce logins?

Experience Cloud provides a branded, permission-scoped portal that exposes only the data and actions a partner or customer needs, without requiring a full internal Salesforce user license for each external user. This is both a cost difference, since external user licenses are priced differently, and a security boundary that keeps external users from seeing internal-only data and functionality.

Can Salesforce integrate with our existing ERP and marketing automation systems?

Yes, through the REST and Bulk APIs for most integration needs, or through MuleSoft for organizations that want a dedicated enterprise integration layer across many systems. The right approach depends on integration volume and how many systems ultimately need to stay in sync, not just the two systems involved in an initial project.

How much ongoing administration does a Salesforce org need after launch?

This depends on how much the org is customized, but most organizations of meaningful size benefit from at least part-time dedicated administration for user management, release testing across sandboxes, and monitoring for configuration drift. Organizations that skip this tend to accumulate technical debt that makes later changes riskier and slower.
